Order of the Phoenix

A secret society founded by Dumbledore to oppose Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters. The original Order was created in the 1970s but came back into existence in 1995 after Lord Voldemort returned following the final task of the Triwizard Tournament. The Order was led by Dumbledore along with Kingsley Shacklebolt and Alastor 'Mad Eye' Moody and their base was established at twelve Grimmauld Place, the Black family home. During the Second Wizarding War, the Order remained as an underground resistance force.
